Wellpaper: The wallpaper app everyone is talking about
"Modern problem require modern solutions"
Just think
for a moment without our phones, computers, and the internet what we would have
done in this pandemic situation. We would not have been able to consult doctors
via online consultations whenever we felt ill, we would not have continued our
Work From Home and as a result, we would not have the money that we need, even
more in this situation.
But we have
become so much dependent on this small device that we do not know anymore
whether we are using it or it is using us. Who is the master here is not very
clear.
An average person unlocks their phone approximately
79 times a day that is 2370 times a month and 28440 times a year. Man, If only
I had a dollar for every time I unlocked my phone.
In a word, we have become addicted to these devices and to this web of interconnected networks that we call the internet. This addiction is creating many mental and physical health problems. Our anxiety level is increasing and our attention level is decreasing day by day. When was the last time you remember you spent quality time all by yourself?.
To tackle this problem OneLab, an experimental software team within Oneplus created a digital wellbeing app, Wellpaper.
Wellpaper displays dynamic live wallpaper based on your Smartphone usage data. There are three wallpapers available inside the app (see below picture).
The colors, gradients, and circles in these wallpapers are not random. They change according to the category of app you are using. When you tap these wallpapers they will show the name of the category (see the below picture).
The features of this
app are –
·
Very battery-efficient-
The dynamic wallpaper updates when you unlock the phone. So, not battery
consumption when the phone is locked.
·
Completely personalized wallpapers –
As
your app usage pattern is unique the wallpaper that you have on your phone is
unique as well. No one on the whole planet has the same wallpaper as you.
·
Digital Wellbeing –You
can stay aware of your digital habits and regulate them as per need.

first step in solving a problem is
recognizing
there is one"

When you realize that
you have a problem of overusing app of some category you can use that
information to regulate your app usage.

For example, these are
screenshots of my phone and as the red block is larger I remember recently I
have been using the YouTube Vanced app a lot. I have to remove the app from my
dock.
By the way, Youtube Vanced is a cool Stock YouTube app alternative. You can check my review of the app along with its download link here.
